Welcome to Padala Homeopathy

What is Homeopathy?
Also spelled Homeopathy is derived from Gr. Homoiopatheia, from homoiopathes having like feelings or affections; hmoios, like, similar and pthos, feelings, sufferings). The theory or system of curing diseases with very minute doses of medicine which in a healthy person and in large doses would produce a condition like that of the disease treated.

As per the primary principle of Homoeopathy, Similia Similibus Curentur or the Law of Similars which is the natural law of healing, diseases are treated by medicines, which are capable of producing in healthy persons, symptoms similar to those of the disease, which it can treat in a sick person.

Holistic as well as Individualistic approach Homoeopathic approach is holistic as well as individualistic; holistic in the sense that the medicine is selected for the patients as a whole, but not for individual diseased organs/parts; individualistic from the view point that each individual patient is considered different from others, although all are suffering from the same disease.

Medicine is selected for each individual patient based on his/her totality of symptoms, and not according to the name of the disease. Therefore, even if a number of patients suffer from the same disease condition, they may require different medicines, due to variation in the expression of symptoms in different patients. Such a variation of symptoms is found in respect of location of symptoms, their sensations/characters, modifying factors and associated features and also, variation in the general constitution, physical and mental attributes of the patient.

NO PROTOCOLS
Unlike other systems of medicine Homeopathy do not follow any preset protocols. This is a key point and unique to Homoeopathy. Even though it may sound strange, Homoeopathy does not treat disease per se. A Homoeopath does not concentrate his therapy on, say arthritis or bronchitis or cancer. In other words he does not limit his treatment to painful joints, inflamed bronchi or a malignant growth. Rather, he treats all mental, emotional and physical aspects of the person who happens to be suffering with arthritis of bronchitis or cancer. Homoeopathy regards each patient as a unique individual, e.g. six persons with sinusitis might get a different homoeopathic remedy, each one aimed at the individual's totality of symptoms rather than at his sinuses alone. The physicians interest is not only to alleviate the patients present symptoms but also his long term well being.

In short, Homoeopathy treats the PATIENT who suffers from the disease but NOT THE DISEASE that the patient has.

How does Homoeopathy work?
Human body has its own healing mechanism. In most of the medical conditions it can heal itself. Medical help is needed only in conditions where your immune system is facing difficulty in dealing with the disease. Thus Medicines are needed only to support your immune system, but not to supplement. This is what Homeopathy do.

Homeopathy works through Neuro-Hormonal Pathway. The action of the medicine starts the moment it touches your tongue where the medicine stimulates the nerve endings present on your tongue. The stimulus is transferred to the nerve centers in the brain which control the organs that are in trouble. These nerve centers stimulate the endocrine glands which release required hormones which make all the changes that are required in restoring the normal balance and harmony in those particular organs and your system.

Many symptoms we experience are the results of one underlying problem. For example, pain, swelling and redness could be the result of an infection or some irritation. Unlike other systems which interfere with body's ability to heal itself. Homeopathy stimulates the body's own healing power. For examples, pain killers stop the transmission of pain signals to the brain without addressing the cause of the pain. Cough suppressants stop expulsion of phlegm (but this gradually gets accumulated in the lungs making people more prone to develop bacterial infections). Homeopathic remedies ensure completely cure by treating the underlying problems and not just the side effects.

Is homeopathy scientific?
-"There are no mysteries only a lack of information"
-"There are no miracles only unknown scientific facts"

If it is not scientific then it would have been one day phenomenon. Instead Homeopathy survived in the most turbulent times. Homeopathic medicines are proved on healthy human volunteers. The medicines when given to these volunteers produce certain symptoms. These symptoms are recorded. When a diseased person comes with the same set of symptoms the medicine is administered which cures him from his illness.
